TODAY WAS NOT NICE
After a sleepless night (not in Seattle) I rolled out of bed and drove to work. We weren’t overly busy but it was hot, and making lattes in hot weather isn’t that fun. At 1 o’clock our function came in. They were DEMANDING. But they didn’t ask for things in one go. I would complete one request, and then get asked for something else. I ended up going back and forth, back and forth for ages. My feet are THROBBING. Still, and I’ve been finished for an hour. Then it turns out that the boss wouldn’t let the manager have another staff member for the evening shift and told her to keep whoever started latest (which was me) Also turns out one girl called in sick, and another thought she started an hour and a half later than she did in actuality. So two of us who had been there since breakfast stayed on for a bit longer. PRAISE the Lord that it didn’t get too busy, and we didn’t have to stay toooo long. I would have died. And I’m NOT exaggerating. Literally keeled over, right then and there. I was going to try to stay up as late as I can to fix my sleeping pattern but I’m really wanting a nap.
