I can’t seem to take a decent picture of my vegetable garden, so here is a bad one. Potatoes and sunchokes on the left, potted herbs on the ladder, tomatoes and eggplants in the foreground, and spinach, peas, beans, carrots, a couple lettuces, and onions in the farther bed. That’s a plum tree in the back, and my prize-winning fireweed on the right.
It’s a small garden, but there is only me to feed from it, and as it turns out five heads of lettuce (green leaf and butter, picking a few leaves at a time) and a couple rows of spinach (ditto) is enough to have a big salad every night.

This is amazing. I love the ladder with the potted herbs. I hope I can have a garden like this of my own one day.
